Indy Pastor Accused Of Fleecing Orphans Group

Feds: Man Never Made Payments On $482K Loan
-----------------------------

A federal warrant has been issued for an Indianapolis pastor accused of misusing hundreds of thousands of dollars meant to help build a church.
The Rev. Wayne Taft Harris Jr. borrowed $482,000 to build a church at 2860 Euclid Ave., but the building was never constructed, and Harris hasn't been heard from since, a federal lawsuit ALLEGES.

According to court documents, Harris' nonprofit corporation, known as Kingdom Builders Faith Church, Inc., took a loan from Teen Missions, a group that provides money to help congregations build places of worship, and then uses money made from the loan to feed and clothe the poor in 108 countries.

Teen Missions' leader, Bob Bland, said that Harris' church never made a payment on the loan, and that Harris blamed construction delays on city zoning issues.

When the group called the FBI, Bland said that Harris disappeared. He estimates the group would have earned $600,000 on the loan by now.

"There are children dying because he took this money," Bland said. "You can't hide from God. He is going to catch up with him."
Court documents show Harris spent more than $39,000 on a Mercedes Benz and a men's mink coat with Versace buttons.

Harris is best known as the son of Wayne Harris Sr., a vocal member of the local clergy who died 10 years ago.

In recent years, Harris Jr. has been associated with ministries in Houston. One minister there said Harris stole from his church before leaving about a year ago.

"Wayne Harris is a scoundrel and a crook. He skipped out, stealing a great deal of money from my church," a minister from the Heights Presbyterian Church USA said via e-mail.

The Indianapolis church, to be called the Ever Increasing Kingdom Christian Center, was supposed to be finished in 2006.
Calls to Harris and his wife, who is not named in the suit, were not returned on Tuesday.

***My Rant on the Subject....

Why in the world do / would a person, let alone a person of the cloth...do this type of thing.

In 2003 / 04 I had the opportunity to sit under his ministry session. The Topic was "Building the Infrastructure " or something to that affect. And the session was very informative.

While in that session someone I was very close too lean over to me and said, and I quote..." That's the biggest crook walking the face of the earth!" unquote.

I did not pay any attention to it, at the time. Then it had cross my mind when I wanted to look into the business part of the session, where he had mentioned about a web page(s).

I searched for awhile, then I found him on a couple of Internet sites and saw that he no longer resided in my area.

I thought to myself he sure picked up ....What happen to the church, he was talking about building....now I see....SMH....

God is pulling the covers off of these people...

But we must Pray for them anyway. The Word tells us that...

We are not to judge lest we be judge...

WILL THE REAL MINISTERS PLEASE STAND UP!!

UNTIL NEXT TIME...

READERS CARRY BUSINESS OUT IN A MANNER THAT THE ALMIGHTY WILL BE PLEASED WITH...
