I OFTEN WONDER WHY THE THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO ME DID. GROWING UP I COMPLAINED ABOUT EVERYTHING. MY MAIN FOCUS WAS ON NOT HAVING BUT THE SIGHT OF ONE EYE. GOT OLDER THEN I ALWAYS WONDERED WHY THE TWO THAT I WAS RAISED WITH WOULD FIGHT ME LIKE THEY DID.
NEXT IT WAS SCHOOL...OH BOY, THE STORY IS TO LONG TO TELL. THIS ONE HERE TAKES THE CAKE, GETTING MY HANDS BEAT WITH THE BRUSH EVERYDAY AFTER SCHOOL BECAUSE MY HAIR WOULD NOT STAY BRAIDED. THIS RODE ON IN TO MY ADULT LIFE, BECAUSE MY HAIR WOULD GROW SO MUCH, THEN I WOULD TAKE THE SCISSORS AND CHOP IT ALL OFF. AND HAVE JUST ENOUGH FOR VERY SMALL ROLLERS. LIKE I SAID WAY TO MUCH TO TELL....
BUT OUT OF ALL THAT HAS HAPPEN GOD KEPT ME FROM LOSING MY MIND... HE HELD ME CLOSE...AND I THANK HIM. I PUT ALL THAT OUT THERE TO SAY THIS... AS I WAS OUT AND ABOUT ONE DAY. WAITING ON THE BUS THIS MAN CAME TO THE BUS STOP AND HE HAD ONE LEG,AND OF COURSE HE HAD BEEN FITTED FOR A PROSTHESIS. HE WAS DRESS NICE FROM HEAD TO TOE. AND VERY,VERY PLEASANT.
MY MIND WENT BACK TO MYSELF (MINDS EYE VIEW) AND I COULD REMEMBER BEING VERY BITTER, SAD, WITHDRAWN AND JUST A MESS. BECAUSE OF THE SIGHT OF ONE EYE, BUT I STILL CAN SEE,NOT PERFECT SIGHT BUT IT'S SIGHT. THEN I REMEMBER THAT IN 2000 I COULD NOT SEE A THING-BECAUSE OF RETINA DETACTMENT. I HAD TO CLOSE MY EYES OPEN THEM I COULD ONLY SEE FOR LESS THAN A SECOND THEN BACK TO DARKNESS.
THE BLESSING : I GOT WAS A DOCTOR WHO ALREADY BEEN INTRODUCED TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. WHEN I GOT TO HIS OFFICE (WITH THE HELP OF A NEIGHBOR WHO TOOK OFF OF WORK TO GET ME THERE) I LEARN THAT THE MEDICAL COVERAGE THAT I HAD WOULD NOT COVER THE LASER SURGERY. SO THE DOCTOR TOLD US NOT TO LEAVE HE WOULD GO AND MAKE SOME CALLS.
THE NEXT VOICE I HEARD WAS "HELLO!...I'M DR. POER, WON'T YOU COME WITH ME". I SAT IN A CHAIR, WE HAD A PRAYER.......I HAD THE LASER SURGERY...GOT RELEASE PAPERS, AND THEN I WAS ON MY WAY.
I USE TO SAY WITH AN ATTITUDE...."IF I GO BLIND I'M NOT GOING TO BE GOING AROUND WITH NO STICK". THE FLAVOR OF THAT KOOL-AID HAS SURELY CHANGED. BUT THAT WEEK END MY SON AND I WENT TO CINCY FOR A SERVICE,ISTILL WAS NOT SEEING CLEAR. THIS LADY STARTED TO PROPHESY , SHE SAID "THERE IS SOMEONE HERE HAVING A VISION PROBLEM" AND YOU WENT TOTALLY BLIND" and " YOU HAVE TO GO BACK FOR ANOTHER CHECK UP IN ABOUT A WEEK". THE LADY (MINISTER) GOT VERY CLOSE TO MY FACE SO THAT I COULD SEE HER CLEAR,AND ASKED IF I MIND HER PRAYING I RESPONSDED. SHE PUT HER HAND TO HER MOUTH AND SPIT ON IT AND THEM PUT HER HAND ON MYEYE AND PRAYED.
THEN TOLD ME I WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE VERY CLEAR,BEFORE I GET BACK HOME.....MY SON AND I GOT ON THAT GREYHOUND BUS,AND HE'S A WINDOW HOG...BUT I MADE SURE I GOT A WINDOW SEAT THIS TIME. AS WE JOURNEYED HOME THE VIEW WAS SOMETHING TO BEHOLD IT WAS LIKE SOMEONE STICK THEIR ARM OUT AND PAINTED AS WE RODE. SIGHT IS A LOVELY THING....
I THANK AND PRAISE GOD FOR HER. THE NEXT MONTH AFTER THE SERVICE I RECEIVED A CALL TELLING ME OF THE PASSING OF THIS MIGHTY SERVANT OF GOD. *I ONCE WAS BLIND...BUT THANK GOD, I CAN SEE...AND I'M FOREVER GRATEFUL.*
FROM LEFT TO RIGHT : 24/29/25. AND I AM VERY ,VERY PROUD TO SAY THAT I NEVER HAD TO GO TO THE JAIL HOUSE. NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR TROUBLE IN THE SCHOOLHOUSE.
HAD SOME KIDDIE SQUABBLES IN THE HOME, BUT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED.
IN MY PRESENCES THEY ACT LIKE THAT THEY ARE NON-RELATED, CAN NOT STAY IN THE SAME ROOM WITH EACH OTHER. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. BUT WHEN THINGS GET ROUGH THEY ARE THERE FOR EACH OTHER. I THINK THAT IS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CLOSE IN AGE OF ONE ANOTHER, EACH ONE TRIES TO BOSS THE OTHER.
NO THIS ROAD WAS NOT EASY.
SOMETIMES WE HAD TO MAKE DO WITH WHAT WE HAD.
I REMEMBER ONE TIME THE MEAL CUPBOARD WAS L-O-W.
AND THE ONE ON THE RIGHT, IN THE GREEN TOOK CONTROL AT SIX YEARS OLD.
SHE WENT DOWNSTAIRS IN THE KITCHEN LIT THE STOVE

20 MINS HAD PASSED SHE EMERGED WITH A HOT PAN OF BISCUITS AND PB&J.
PRAYED OVER THE FOOD AND SAID "LET'S EAT".
I TRULY THANK GOD, FOR THEM. AND I SENT OUT BLESSINGS TO THEM. FOR ALL THAT THEY UNDERTAKE.
